1867 envelope was already in 1975 at the Shenfield sale described as "10d probably does not belong". Now we can prove that the 10d of this shade was issued later and certainly not available in Kandy in April 1867. Furthermore, the ink of the oval bar is different and does not tie the 10d to this cover. Otherwise this cover is original in every respect.

1859 entire to Genoa is original, however, has been altered by unnecessarily sticking a strip of three of th 1d and a 2d on it. The compulsory Colonial rate of 1d was sufficient because the recipient had to pay 10 decimi (1 Lira di Sardegna). These superfluous stamps are not tied, the ink of the oval bar is different to the ink on the 1d TR corner which belongs. The lines of the oval bar on the 2d are clearly narrower compared to the 1d which belongs.
